Windows Vista™ Ready!
To keep abreast of the latest technology provided with the onset of Windows Vista™, KATS Generation 4 has been developed using Windows Vista™ development tools. This means that KATS Generation 4 will function on current Windows® operating systems and is Windows Vista™ ready.
Re-Engineered Graphical User Interface
Our new GUI (Graphical User Interface) provides for a system that is easier to manage and easier to navigate. This has resulted in a more efficient system while at the same time still providing a familiar feel to our clients presently using our Generation 3 product.
Re-Engineered Database structures
KATS Database structures have been re-engineered to provide a more powerful system with added functionality. The new architectural design of the database structures are the precursor to new KATS products that will be designed using new database formats in SQL and Web Based products. This will allow the new systems to seamlessly interact with the present version of KATS Generation 4.
NEW! Detector Dog Record Keeping System
The addition of our new Detector Dog module provides for a new and unique product only available in the K9 Activity Tracking System. Our new Training Aids maintenance system provides for a way to manage all your training aids. That is carried further into the system in the training module. No longer will training aids be left behind at training sites. Another first for the industry, KATS now provides for a method of accountability for every training aid that is place out at a training site. By following the clear and concise check box and input system you will know where every hide is and that it has been recovered from its hide location at the end of the training day.
Up to 40% Fewer mouse clicks than Generation 3
The new Graphical User Interface (“GUI”) developed for KATS allows for users to navigate the system more efficiently while at the same time maintaining the familiarity of the system to Generation 3 clients. Some areas of the system have reduced the number of mouse clicks to perform data entries by up to 40% in some areas of the system.
Streamlined System Navigation
Along with the new GUI, the fields found within the various screens of the system have been realigned and placed in their most logical order for data entry. This allows the user to move through the system entries quickly with the use of the tab key to perform data entry quickly and efficiently.
NEW! Archival System
Our new Archival System allows the system administrator to archive teams within the database on an annual basis, or for whatever time period felt necessary. This keeps the database at a reasonable size and allows for fast and efficient searching of information. Basically, historical information is archived in a manner that it can be retrieved at any time if necessary while at the same time allowing the system to maintain an efficient sized database for current data.
Automatic Online Updates
Periodically we will provide minor updates to the system. KATS will now allow you to check for updates to determine if there is an update available and allow you to install the latest updates as needed by the system.
NEW! On Board Tips System
The new TIPS System provides for a visible help screen providing you with help on how to use the system as you move from screen to screen. You simply click on the horizontal arrow to the right of the entry screen you are working on and the table on the right will move out of the way and provide you with a guide on how to use the screen you are working on.
Tactical Display Mode
Another first from Eden Consulting Group is our Tactical Display Mode. Simply stated, KATS provides for screens with more subdued colors for use in patrol cars at night. This provides you with less visible glow from the laptop in the car at night, preventing officers from being exposed, as well as having less impact on their night vision.
