System Tour

Welcome to the KATS Generation III tour! KATS has been re-designed and re-developed and we are very proud of the results! We are again the first to implement the latest technology in the law enforcement K9 software field by developing KATS using Microsofts latest development tools in .NET technology.

While the basic structure of the system is similar to previous version of KATS, we have advanced the technology keeping the practical uses of the system in mind and literally re-invented the interface to create a system that was dynamic yet easy to use.

Here you will be able to see a small portion of the system and get a feel for how it operates. We invite you to download a copy of KATS Generation III and try it out. We believe you will agree that it is by far the most outstanding Law Enforcement K9 Software available!

As in previous versions of KATS, we have included the latest version of K9 case law updates for administrators and handlers. We have also added the latest in narcotics detector dog case law.

Incident Screen

The Incident screen is the screen you will use for live deployments. It has been developed to allow you to move anywhere you need to go in relation to any part of your incident simply by clicking on one of the gray tabs. System navigation is easy and permits you to quickly complete your forms easily and efficiently.

Incident Screen

The Main interface of the system also allows you to navigate via various menus, along the left hand side of the system as well as along the top of the screen. The menus on the left can be easily dragged and dropped into a new location if you prefer a different order to them.

The two icons next to the Incident Location box and the Summary of Event box are common throughout the system. The yellow note icon is for our Snippet feature, where you can create pre-formed text to autofill into these locations (IE: attendance at regular locations such as bars that you may attend can be pre-formatted using the snippet feature and simply dropped into the location so you don’t have to type it in each time you attend.

Incident Code Table

In the picture above you can see a pull down menu for Incident Type. by clicking on that arrow it will bring up a list similar to what you see below. The Description will be what is visible. If you find that you have an incident type that is not in the table, you can scroll to the bottom of the list, and double click on the ADD A NEW ITEM button. This will bring up a table that you can add or delete entries from according to your needs. This system is available for virtually all the pull down menus in the system.

UCR Codes

Note that in this new KATS system we have implemented tha ability to enter UCR codes. Both Canada and the United States use their own specific coding system, and some States even use a State code rather than UCR codes. For this reason, the tables are left blank to allow you to enter codes specific to your applications.

To navigate to a different screen regarding this incident click on any of the tabs.

Activity Screen

Activity Screen

The Activities screen is the power base of the system. Using this screen you can track any activities that you desire simply by placing the desired activities into your Activities Code Table. The pull down menu is context sensitive, allowing you to simply type the first letter of the entry you wish to input and continue tapping that letter until the correct entry comes up. In this case, if we hit "T", the system has two entries to choose from; TRACK-OBJECTIVES MET or TRACK - UNSUCCESSFUL. Tapping the "T" key will scroll from one to the other. When you have the entry you like, simply hit on the tab key to advance to the next box. Note the entry in the table below the screen.

This table will list everything you do, so you can scroll through and choose different incidents by clicking on the List Incidents button at the top of the screen. You can also search for specific files based on a subject name, a location, or incident number and you can filter your reports by date.

Note on this search the number 116 has been typed in for the location. The system searched and located three hits where incidents had occurred on 116th Street. At this point, to load any of these incidents you would simply double click on the incident or highlight it and select LOAD.
